Top Non-Asphalt Commercial Roofing Materials
PVC
A-Team Construction installs PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) roofing material built with two layers of PVC and a polyester reinforcement scrim in between. The top ply contains additives that make the membrane UV resistant, while the bottom ply is typically darker and contains plasticizers that add greater flexibility, which means a faster installation for us and a longer lasting roof for you.
Here are a few other things you need to know about PVC material:
- Chemical Resistance: PVC is highly resistant to chemicals, grease, and oils, making it perfect for industrial facilities or restaurants.
- Strong Welded Seams: PVC membranes are heat-welded at the seams, creating a watertight bond for added durability and powerful leak protection.
- Long Lifespan: PVC roofing has a reputation for longevity and can often last over 20 years with proper maintenance.
The biggest benefits of a PVC membrane are longevity, durability, and fire resistance. PVC is also weldable, which means it can be welded to an adjoining sheet to make it watertight.
EPDM
A-Team Construction installs EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber roofing, which is one of the most popular commercial roofing materials out there because of its powerful mix of durability and resilience against the worst that Mother Nature throws at it.
Here are a few things you need to know about EPDM material:
- Weather Resistance: EPDM performs exceptionally well in extreme weather, particularly in fluctuating temperatures, making it ideal for a variety of climates.
- Flexibility: It’s highly flexible, even in extreme temperatures, which reduces the likelihood of cracking or splitting.
- Proven Longevity: EPDM roofing systems have been used for decades and are known for their long-lasting performance, with some roofs lasting 30 years or more.
EPDM roofing material is used in low-slope commercial buildings all over the world.
TPO
A-Team Construction installs TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin), which is an extremely common and durable material for low slope roofs. TPO includes reinforced roof sheets that feature heat-welded seams and are highly reflective, with a single-ply membrane, typically composed of polypropylene and ethylene-propylene rubber that has been polymerized together.
Here are a few other things you need to know about TPO material:
- Energy Efficiency: TPO is known for its reflective properties, which help reduce cooling costs by reflecting UV rays away from the building.
- Durability: It resists dirt, mold, and punctures, making it an excellent choice for businesses in high-traffic or industrial areas.
- Cost-Effective: TPO tends to be more affordable than other materials while offering many of the same advantages, making it a popular choice for commercial buildings.
TPO has UV resistant properties which go a long way to cutting cooling costs during the summer months.
Metal Roofs and Siding
A-Team Construction installs Metal roofing, a favorite for commercial property owners who value aesthetics along with longevity and durability. It’s a popular pick in the northern climates and can be used on both low-slope and steep roofs.
Here are a few other things you need to know about metal roofing:
- Energy Efficiency: Metal’s highly reflective surface significantly reduces heat absorption, which means lower cooling costs for you.
- Low Maintenance: Unlike other roofing materials, metal roofs require less maintenance because they’re resistant to cracking, warping, and corrosion.
- Fire Resistance: Metal roofs are highly fire-resistant, which boosts the safety of your commercial investment.
A-Team Construction offers many types of metal roofs to take advantage of longer lifespan and durability compared to a traditional shingle roof.
